Guard Dog and new Queen of the House

Gotta watch for bad dudes while Dad and Bro put the new grill together. Mom promises that if I don't chew on the curio anymore, I won't be a "special guest" at our next BBQ

But, I'm getting so tired... these guys are making me do too much... I'm just a young little pup

Excuse me, I have to go pee

Okay... I am done with you for the next 1 hour and 13 minutes... I need my sleep. I don't care if this is "your" couch... It belongs to me now

New member of the family

I'm so tired after that long trip in a strange van

Here I come

Hi, my name is Valentyne

I'm a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and I'm told I am the Queens' Dog

One of the things I like to do is chew things... everything

After I'm done chewing on stuff, I like to sleep

I am 8 weeks old and love my new family, but I do miss my 8 brothers and sisters and my dad. I really miss my mom... she is in heaven now on account of that nasty old rattlesnake. But these guys are ok too. They play with me alot.

First post-operative visit to the doc... All-in-all, a good one. No complications or other problems. Long road ahead. Ryan is out of the cast and into the boot... Must wear boot 23x7 for the next FOUR months. No weight-bearing activities at all (crutches). Then comes up to SIX months of physical therapy. We are all having fun now!!

Some pics from the season

We got these pics from the school photographer at the baseball banquet. He has several more that we'll get later...
Takin a walk

1st to 3rd

Touching Home

2 X the Fun

Because of the damage, Dr Hollis is going to do two surgeries. The first one will be arthroscopic to the inner side of his foot and the second will be a full cut on the outer side. Why two? She wants to go in and repair the bones and tendons and then follow up with the ligaments. We have one date set... June 24th. If she can shift her schedule on June 10th, that will be the first. If not, then the 24th will be the first and the second will be two weeks later. This combined with a couple other things going on around here has got us all stressing.... ;-]
More later

English Please

Head still spinning from all the Latin and medical speak. Tendons --- torn... Ligaments --- torn... Bones --- fractured. Lots of confused orthopedic doctors/surgeons. Air Force surgeons sent us out to sports ortho... Neither had seen the combination of damage in an ankle before... Doc today said that it looks as if it was mashed... from the inside. Awaiting surgery date.

Ketch Up.. With Pics

Got back from my fun filled week in Austin... Good stuff... Anyway, got back too late last night to talk to docs; will do so on Monday. Here's a couple pics that might amuse y'all though...

Bulky Jones Cast

Cast put on this past Tuesday
Real reason he's pissed....Because he can't go cruisin....

I'll post more this week once we know what the doc's and cutters decide to do. In the meantime, the Crestview High School baseball team finished the season at 19-6 in 1st place in the district. District Tourney starts Monday...

How Prophetic

What's the title of my last post? A "break" it is... Ryan is now a surgical candidate for his ankle. After 11 days, swelling had not yet reduced enough... primary care doc sent him to ortho... ortho immediately sent him for a CT... results horrible... Now waiting for referral for MRI (should be tomorrow)... He could be under the knife as soon as Friday.... There is always hope though that they will see something on the MRI that will change their minds about surgery.... Oh, and I leave Sunday morning to Austin for a week. What is the new phrase...? Feces occurs. More later...

Can't Catch a Break

There is an old saying that if it weren't for back luck, some would have no luck at all. Well, that's the way Ryan feels right now... After finally getting full medical clearance, Ryan was back out on the diamond and getting some regular playing time. Big tournament this past week. Unfortunately, Thursday night is going to be his last game for at least a couple weeks. After beating out a shot to the hole at deep SS, he rolled his left ankle... bad... Swelled immediately. Trainer had ice on him almost as fast. Stayed for the rest of the game and we went home. After getting home and taking the ice off, Jeong Ah almost fainted at the site. So... off to the ER we go... Right to X-Ray which were negative... wait 2 1/2 hrs for doc to tell us "He's got a real good ole fashioned hard sprain...." "Stay off for a couple days and here's some crutches." Last night was the championship game and you could just see it in his eyes how badly he wanted to be on the field. At the end of the game (we won, of course), as the teams lined up to shake hands, Ryan gimps on to the field. In a show of sportsmanship I haven't seen in a long time, the opposing team made their way to Ryan so he didn't have to go all the way to the mound. Parents of both teams clapped and cheered. Anyway... Crestview is now 16-3. As a team they are leaving tomorrow (Sunday) for Gainsville to watch UF play LSU. From there, they will travel to Atlanta for the Braves home opener. How cool is that?? Jeong Ah woke up early this morning and made some phone calls. She and Ryan are now on their way to an acupuncturist. We'll see.
UPDATE

Here is a pic of the treatment... Yes, those are needles...

Baseball

Alrighty then.... check out local HS baseball info here. Of course, we are Crestview fans! Quick info... team is now 9-1. First place in one of the most difficult districts in the state. Ryan slowly getting back into the game. Shoulder still bothering him at the plate, but not in the field. Finally able to see some game time. Down the stretch, this could be really interesting... Anyway, here is a pic...

Super Bowl Saturday

Just trying to relax before the big game. I really don't care who wins... although pretty boy Brady needs to be taken down a notch or two. Everyone is doing as good as can be. Have some concerns over Ryan's shoulder though. Starting to bug him again. Not good, especially with baseball season in gear (first game next week). As of right now, he is the starting Left Fielder (which probably led to shoulder probs). Anyhow.... march on get ready for spring and summer...

A New Year

Something to think about....
