Ketch Up.. With Pics

Got back from my fun filled week in Austin... Good stuff... Anyway, got back too late last night to talk to docs; will do so on Monday. Here's a couple pics that might amuse y'all though...

Bulky Jones Cast

Cast put on this past Tuesday
Real reason he's pissed....Because he can't go cruisin....

I'll post more this week once we know what the doc's and cutters decide to do. In the meantime, the Crestview High School baseball team finished the season at 19-6 in 1st place in the district. District Tourney starts Monday...

How Prophetic

What's the title of my last post? A "break" it is... Ryan is now a surgical candidate for his ankle. After 11 days, swelling had not yet reduced enough... primary care doc sent him to ortho... ortho immediately sent him for a CT... results horrible... Now waiting for referral for MRI (should be tomorrow)... He could be under the knife as soon as Friday.... There is always hope though that they will see something on the MRI that will change their minds about surgery.... Oh, and I leave Sunday morning to Austin for a week. What is the new phrase...? Feces occurs. More later...

Can't Catch a Break

There is an old saying that if it weren't for back luck, some would have no luck at all. Well, that's the way Ryan feels right now... After finally getting full medical clearance, Ryan was back out on the diamond and getting some regular playing time. Big tournament this past week. Unfortunately, Thursday night is going to be his last game for at least a couple weeks. After beating out a shot to the hole at deep SS, he rolled his left ankle... bad... Swelled immediately. Trainer had ice on him almost as fast. Stayed for the rest of the game and we went home. After getting home and taking the ice off, Jeong Ah almost fainted at the site. So... off to the ER we go... Right to X-Ray which were negative... wait 2 1/2 hrs for doc to tell us "He's got a real good ole fashioned hard sprain...." "Stay off for a couple days and here's some crutches." Last night was the championship game and you could just see it in his eyes how badly he wanted to be on the field. At the end of the game (we won, of course), as the teams lined up to shake hands, Ryan gimps on to the field. In a show of sportsmanship I haven't seen in a long time, the opposing team made their way to Ryan so he didn't have to go all the way to the mound. Parents of both teams clapped and cheered. Anyway... Crestview is now 16-3. As a team they are leaving tomorrow (Sunday) for Gainsville to watch UF play LSU. From there, they will travel to Atlanta for the Braves home opener. How cool is that?? Jeong Ah woke up early this morning and made some phone calls. She and Ryan are now on their way to an acupuncturist. We'll see.
UPDATE

Here is a pic of the treatment... Yes, those are needles...

Baseball

Alrighty then.... check out local HS baseball info here. Of course, we are Crestview fans! Quick info... team is now 9-1. First place in one of the most difficult districts in the state. Ryan slowly getting back into the game. Shoulder still bothering him at the plate, but not in the field. Finally able to see some game time. Down the stretch, this could be really interesting... Anyway, here is a pic...

Super Bowl Saturday

Just trying to relax before the big game. I really don't care who wins... although pretty boy Brady needs to be taken down a notch or two. Everyone is doing as good as can be. Have some concerns over Ryan's shoulder though. Starting to bug him again. Not good, especially with baseball season in gear (first game next week). As of right now, he is the starting Left Fielder (which probably led to shoulder probs). Anyhow.... march on get ready for spring and summer...

Something to think about....

Hump Day

Sometimes it seems as though "hump day" isn't... My legs are killing me trying to climb this week. With all that is going on and other distractions, my first thought and image this morning was that of a golf ball on a tee. Nothing out of the ordinary there... Second thought was me walking away from it and going back to bed... Didn't like that so I forced another thought of the perfect drive... 325 yds down the middle of fairway. Frickin hump day... I shanked the shit out of that golf ball and the palm tree would have eaten it except it fell out and landed on an alligator... that sumbitch ate it...

Go about your bizness... nothing to see here

Penguins

I finally did it... Took an old PC and installed the Linux operating system on it. PC didn't cost me anything; neither did Linux. Downloaded it from www.fedoraproject.org. They and Red Hat are partners on free Linux. The graphical user interface (GUI) is very similar to XP (and the new Vista). I'll put it through the ringer over the next couple weeks and let you know if I am going to keep it. Linux is similar to Unix and can be downloaded off the net for free, or you can pay a small fee for it. I now have no excuse for not learning this OS and it capabilities and am actually looking forward to playing with it.

GO BUCKEYES!!
